The 9.8 million viewers of TLC's Jon and Kate Plus Eight recognize Kate Gosselin as the practical mom of eight who has come into their homes for over 100 episodes of her family's hit reality show. In I Just Want You to Know, Kate reveals a grateful and faith-filled mother who only wants the best for her children and is willing to sacrifice to make that happen. The book covers the three years her family lived in their Elizabethtown home, a period Kate considers one of the happiest of her life. In it she discusses the individuality of eight kids (all under the age of six) transitioning from the chaos of caring for infants to the structured days of a home filled with budding preschoolers, as well as her thoughts on communication, everyday miracles, and providing a safe home. During that time, Kate discusses her family's unique challenges from daily schedules to traveling, her need for control to learning how to be flexible, the individuality of all eight kids, how God provided every day, and her faith that held it all together.

"Can’t a girl dress like a hooker, dance like a stripper, and kiss like a porn star and still be a nineteen-year-old virgin?"

You’ll Never Blue Ball in This Town Again is the laugh-out-loud story of an attractive Los Angeles woman who found herself in the predicament of being an unwilling virgin. As an actress, writer, and stand-up comedienne, Heather McDonald passed up ample opportunities to have her V-card revoked by handsome, rich, and sometimes even fabulously famous men, but she could not bring herself to do "it" until well after her friends had been deflowered.

As Chelsea Handler so lovingly puts it, "Thank God Heather waited twenty-seven years to lose her virginity or she wouldn't have any material for this book." Whether in a backseat, a community pool, or a sports stadium, with a frat boy, a doctor, or an A-list celebrity, Heather McDonald knew how to turn those boys blue. Unlike "putting out," blue balling might not have paid her rent or landed her free trips to Hawaii, but it did provide her with hilarious stories and adventures in her search for true love—and, ultimately, her very own happy ending. Now, Heather McDonald will never blue ball in this town again.

!1: Best Buy I was in a sorority at USC in the mid 80s and KNEW Heather...and just saw her and Chelsea in their show this summer.
I never knew she was so darn funny ..who knew that this Gamma Phi with So LA CA hair and makeup was hysterical.

Lets just say that Heather is WAY funnier in person and on stage..and Chelsea had to rant and ramble (vodka anyone??) to get some laughs. She even had to comment on my spouse's package while he was standing at the exit waiting for me in the loo. We left early and stood outside as Chelsea really had nothing funny to say. She is MUCH funnier one on one and when she has her cohorts.

Her show suits her better and well let us all recall how AWFUL the MTV music awards were...the critics had a field day. SO WHAT have you had published lately? AND lets see..I could barely get through Chelseas latest boo..snore. So lets give a first time author who is a RIOT and NOT A DRUNK a break... on Sale!

Carole Gene Marer spent her girlhood dreaming of meeting Rock Hudson, but when she finally had the chance—on her second date with her future husband, television mogul Aaron Spelling—she was so shy she hid all night in the powder room.  How Candy morphed from that quiet girl into a seemingly-confident, stylish trophy wife, mistress of the largest house in Los Angeles (70,000 square feet when you count the attic) is at the heart of Stories from Candyland

The life Candy created for her family—her husband and children Tori and Randy—was fabulous, over-the-top, and often magical.  So what if California Christmases don’t come with snow? Let’s make some on the tennis court!  How do we take a cross-country family vacation with a dad who doesn’t fly? By private train car, of course (with an extra for the fifty-two pieces of luggage).  The kids want to dress up for Halloween? No problem, why not call in Nolan Miller to design their costumes?

Candy had a hand in some of the most beloved television shows of all time (she once stopped production on “Dynasty” because Krystle Carrington’s engagement ring was not spectacular enough), has entertained half of Hollywood in epic fashion, and lives an enviable life.  But under all the fun and showmanship lies a more interesting character, still wrestling with some of the insecurities of her ingénue self.  Oprah threw her into a major panic with a discussion of hoarding.  A lifelong humming habit evolved as a unique coping mechanism.  And there’s nothing like being defined as, “well, you know, complicated” by your daughter on television and in her own book.

Stories from Candyland sparkles with glamour and grand gestures. But it also satisfies with some more intimate Candy concerns: why being a perfect wife and mother was so important to her, how cooking and cleaning can keep the home fires burning, why collections matter, and whether dogs are better judges of people than people are.

Visit Candyland in these pages and get a glimpse of a generous, glittering world revealing many of its surprising and funny secrets for the first time.

!1: Best Buy I found this book to be quite touching. After reading each of Tori's books, in reverse chronological order, I was interested to see what Candy's book was about. It is not a fair comparison to rate Candy's book against her daughter's. The two of them are vastly different individuals, each with their own perspectives on their life experiences.
Candy puts herself out there to share who she is and who she was. What is missing is manufactured drama for entertainment's sake. It may have taken a lot of courage on her part to do this and keep it honest. I don't think you can truly understand and appreciate this attempt to have a voice and to "matter" until you get to this stage of life and become a grandparent yourself.
This is a sweet read, and I will try out a few of the recipes (carrot cake!) as well.

KENDRA BARES ALL

Fans of the E! smash hit series The Girls Next Door fell in love with sporty Playboy beauty Kendra Wilkinson’s care- free spirit, infectious laugh, and down-to-earth nature. Now that she’s moved out of the world’s most famous bachelor pad and into her own delightfully chaotic world on Kendra as wife to NFL star Hank Baskett and mother to their newborn son, we’ve watched her hilarious antics as she adjusts to domestic life. But how much do we really know about the fun-loving star? In this humorous and optimistic, sometimes heartbreaking, but always unfailingly honest memoir, Kendra reveals the highs and lows of her extraordinary journey.

She wasn’t always the quintessential girl next door. Before she was a reality television superstar, Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend, or one of the most popular Playboy cover models ever, Kendra was an athletic tomboy whose father walked out on her family when she was a little girl. She grew into a rebellious teenager with a serious drug habit before she quit cold turkey and beat the odds to graduate from a high school that almost didn’t give her a second (or third, or fourth) chance.

Following her rocky teenage years, an out-of-the- blue phone call from Hugh Hefner changed everything. Kendra dishes candidly about life in the Playboy Mansion: the sex, the parties, the show, and even her relationships with her Girls Next Door costars—Hef, Holly, and Bridget. She tells the true story about how she and Hank met and built a relationship in secret while she was still Hef’s girl- friend and a public face of Playboy. Finally, she reflects on the slew of unexpected changes in the short space of a year that have brought her sliding into home from Playboy party girl to wife and mother with a blooming Hollywood career. If you think you’ve seen all of Kendra, think again. She’s only warming up. . . .

!1: Best Buy Sliding Into Home: A Memoir tells of the life of a Playboy cover model and star of two hot TV shows, covering her childhood as an athletic tomboy, her rebellious teen years and involvement in drugs, and her rise to become a popular Playboy cover model. Any familiar with her name, and biography and film holdings alike, will relish this insider's expose.

Welcome to Los Angeles, birthplace and residence of Tori Spelling.

It’s not every Hollywood starlet whose name greets you on a Virgin Airways flight into la-la land. But Tori Spelling has come to accept that her life is a spectacle. Her name is her brand, and business is booming. Too bad when your job is to be yourself, you can’t exactly take a break.

Tori finally has everything she thought she wanted—a loving family and a successful career—but trying to live a normal life in Hollywood is a little weird. With the irresistible wit, attitude, and humor that fans have come to love, the New York Times bestselling author of sTORI telling and Mommywood is back with more hilarious, heartwarming, and candid stories of juggling work, marriage, motherhood, and reality television cameras.

Tori comes clean about doing her time on jury duty, stalking herself on Twitter, discovering her former 90210 castmates’ "I Hate Tori" club, contracting swine flu, and contacting Farrah Fawcett from the dead. Like many mothers, she struggles to find balance (Stars, they’re just like us!)—only most women don’t have to battle it out with paparazzi at the grocery store. She talks openly about the darker side of life in the spotlight: media scrutiny over her weight and her marriage to Dean McDermott, her controversial relationship with Dean’s ex-wife, and her unfolding reconciliation with her mother.

Having it all isn’t always easy—especially when you’re a perfectionist—but with the help of her unconventional family and friends, an underwear-clad spiritual cleansing or two, and faith in herself, she’s learning to find her happy ending. Because when you’re Tori Spelling, every day brings uncharted terriTORI.***

Just when you thought sTORI time was over, the beloved Hollywood starlet has so much more to say. ***"My life has changed dramatically in the past several years. I married Dean; we moved several times; we had two children; we created a show that has gone into its fifth season on the air. I have love. I have a family. I have a home. I have work. It’s all I ever wished for. But trying to be a perfect wife, mother, and mini-mogul has its challenges, especially if, like me, you want to be perfect at all of them at the same time." —from uncharted terriTORI

±1±: Best Buy You know, I think poor Tori gets a bum rap. This is the second book of hers that I have read and I really think that she is a genuinely nice gal. She clearly has issues but she is the first one to point them out. While there is nothing earth shattering in this book, it is a nice slice of life piece told in a tongue in cheek manner. She loves her kids, she loves her husband, she loves her family (as difficult as that sometimes can be,) and she loves her devoted friends and fans. People are mean to her, even other mothers in her kid's preschool class, yet she is always nice and never lashes out or disrespects the haters. Tori Spelling appears to be a truly great gal and I would be happy to have her as my friend...in fact I think I'll look her up on Facebook and "friend" her right now. If she doesn't accept my offer I may have to come back here and amend this review:-)

Overall, UNCHARTED TERRITORI is a quick read, it took me only 3 nights of bedtime reading to complete. I enjoyed hearing about all her ailments, both real and imagined, and I appreciate her devotion to her children. It's a fun summer read. on Sale!

I was afraid it might be a rehash of old shows, and it definitely is not. I found out things about the housewives that made a lot of the things that happen on the show make better sense. I so enjoyed this book, that I would love to see one put out every couple of years, to update things and tell about new wives. ±1±: Best Buy This is the first of Connie Willis' books I've read, but I'm now a fan. I love the humor and the political satire of Uncharted Territory. Since very little was explained, I did have to figure things out as I went along--the technology, the "ponies", the indigenous scout, Bult, etc. But this wasn't a problem as the story was more about characters than technology. The romance is subtle, though by the end of the book you'll know who loves whom, even when it isn't spelled out. And you might even start asking your loved ones, "Where did you put the binoculars?" on Sale!

She was television's most famous virgin -- and, as Aaron Spelling's daughter, arguably its most famous case of nepotism. Portraying Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, Tori Spelling became one of the most recognizable young actresses of her generation, with a not-so-private personal life every bit as fascinating as her character's exploits. Yet years later the name Tori Spelling too often closed -- and sometimes slammed -- the same doors it had opened.

sTORI telling is Tori's chance to finally tell her side of the tabloid-worthy life she's led, and she talks about it all: her decadent childhood birthday parties, her nose job, her fairy-tale wedding to the wrong man, her so-called feud with her mother. Tori has already revealed her flair for brilliant, self-effacing satire on her VH1 show So NoTORIous and Oxygen's Tori & Dean: Inn Love, but her memoir goes deeper, into the real life behind the rumors: her complicated relationship with her parents; her struggles as an actress after 90210; her accident-prone love life; and, ultimately, her quest to define herself on her own terms.

From her over-the-top first wedding to finding new love to her much-publicized -- and misunderstood -- "disinheritance," sTORI telling is a juicy, eye-opening, enthralling look at what it really means to be Tori Spelling.

Read More Full Content...

±1±: Best Buy Full confession, I've never really cared for Tori Spelling. Between the tabloid drama and what I viewed as the obvious nepotism of her acting career, I've generally thought of Tori as the classic spoiled little rich girl. If that's how you feel about her, you need to read this book.

Tori Spelling is likable! She opens up about her (rocky) relationship with her mother, her first marriage, and her career. And in reading this book, I came to feel like Tori is very misunderstood. It gave me a whole new perspective on what it is like to constantly be told that you have only achieved what you have because of your family.

Yes, Tori Spelling grew up in an insanely rich family (who has a gift wrapping room anyway?). And her career is largely due to her father's fame and influence. But at the end of reading her memoir, I realized that her life is not the easy party that I always imagined. She came off as a very real person who has worked hard and has a complicated relationship with her parents. And really, who can't sympathize with that?

As a final note, with the exception of some repetitive phrasing that grated a little bit, she's actually a decent writer. This book made me swear off tabloid gossip, especially the gossip about celebrities' bodies. She did a great job humanizing the people behind that gossip. on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy Pre-ordered this book and received it yesterday (6/14). I just finished it now, and have to say, it is another great read from Tori. Learning the ins and outs of her life: being a mom, wife, media mogul, friend, etc. is truly fascinating and admirable. Being a fellow Los Angeles native, it was really cool to hear stories about the area and events that I have heard about or been to myself, not knowing what was really going on with her at the time. Great book- a definite must read!

PS. Amazon should consider taking down the negative reviews on here from people who have not even read the book. Read it- then trash it if you must, but do not give it a bad review when you haven't even read it. Makes no sense! on Sale!
